How do I search for art?
Searching for art is done through our
Search for Art button located at the top of the page.
You can also click
Search for Art to begin.
Will all items show for my search criteria?
Yes. When you run a search for art, you will see all items that match your search criteria.
ArtistLane.com does not currently filter fine art from those who view the site.
ArtistLane.com does reserve the right to remove any pieces of art that are deemed to be offensive or derogatory.
Can I search art pieces based on different criteria?
Yes. ArtistLane.com has included some great search criteria into our Advanced Search menu.
The search items are: Piece Type, Medium, Style, Theme, Color and Price.
My search had very few results; how can I see more art?
If you clicked one item from each search criteria box, you are limiting your available pieces.
Try choosing less specific items (leave the choice as 'ALL') or try other criteria that also interests you.
What if a piece is not showing up when I search?
If a piece is not showing up when you search, probably the artist has removed it from the site.
Each piece that is currently acitve in the system will show up provided that your search criteria matches.
Try choosing less specific search items and focus on either the main color or medium.
Why are there so many search criteria choices?
Different people want different things. Remember, a picture is worth 1,000 words!
Our search criteria has over 655,424 possible combinations because we believe each piece is worth at least 655,424 words!
When a site has few pieces to start, perhaps just price, category and subject would work; however, for a buyer to really find what they are looking for, the more the better.
Can I look for combinations of search items?
Absolutely!
Simply choose a different option from each box and run the search.
If you want a Painting in Mixed Medium, done in a Primitive style focusing on an Unnatural theme with the main color as red; then put it in and see what happens.
